Voor al onze WO1 Vliegtuigbrouwers een zeldzame traktatie.
The League of WWI Aviation Historians, Dayton Area Chapter members, had our quarterly meeting today and the highlight of the meeting was the incredible inspection (hands-on inspection) of a rare piece of original fabric from a Hannover C-IIa that was captured by the allies. The fabric is in the collection of Bob Kasprzak of Dayton (president of the Dayton Chapter). I was there leading the inspection with my Methuen color book and a portable low power microscope. Here are a few pictures of the fabric:
The fabric is from the top, port side wing tip.
Needless to say, I was pretty excited to finally see a fine specimen of the 5-color fabric.
